Reel to Reel

The first time reel to reel recording was used in the 1930s. Reel to Reel as a term was used to distinguish the media form types such as cartridges or cassettes that were introduced in the 1960s.

In the early days of reel to reel tape, it was used to store data from large mainframe computers. During the 80, it was widely to for high quality digital audio recording.
